Why Bezos & Musk are in a battle for Trump’s favor

The richest two men in the world are vying with each other to court Trump. Why? To gain the upper hand in a proxy war for government spaceflight contracts. “But the casualty in this war is American democracy, for which neither Bezos nor Musk apparently has a scintilla of concern,” says Robert Reich (see below).

It’s well to remember the warning of eminent jurist Louis Brandeis during the disastrous period brought on by the Gilded Age: "America has a choice. We can have great wealth in the hands of a few, or we can have a democracy. But we cannot have both.”
