Mission
The mission of the North Shore Democrats of Travis County is to support and promote Democratic values in our community. We provide opportunities to meet candidates who share these values and we support free and fair elections so that every vote counts. We encourage open and free exchange of ideas among future voters, new voters, and adults of all circumstance and age. Through our efforts, public officeholders will be elected who value the environment, freedom, equality, opportunity, security, justice, and community.
Vision
Our vision is to promote better care for veterans, expansion of healthcare, humane immigration reform, quality public education, higher wages for workers, solutions for a sustainable environment, protection of voters' rights, support for women's rights, affordable housing, criminal justice reform, and freedom and equality for all.

Eileen Wolfard: Americans aren’t the only ones who are mad about rising gasoline prices. Protests have erupted all over the world over fuel shortages and price increases, which governments are blaming on Trump’s American-Israeli war against Iran, The New York Times reports.
Jim Gallagher: David French, the New York Times columnist, weighed in on the recent racist remarks Bo French, the Republican nominee for Texas Railroad Commissioner and no relation to David, made about UT students after last week’s game with Ohio State. “He’s one of a seemingly endless number of vicious bigots lurking within the modern right, but he stands out from the rest,” David French wrote here.
Tammy Foskey: The Daily Beans podcast calls itself “News. With swearing.” Hosted by Allison Gill, a Webby-award winning executive producer, and the comedian/activist Dana Goldberg, the Beans delivers current events and political news “with plenty of real findings and real talk.” Here’s one recent episode on YouTube.
Maria Newman: New students at UT Austin will no longer be able to major in studies focusing on Africans and the African diaspora, Mexican Americans and Latinos, or women and gender, according to the new totalitarian-like Department of Social and Cultural Analysis. Anne Ochoa: Joyce Vance, a lawyer and former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, said there was reason to celebrate the Supreme Court’s recent decision rejecting President Trump’s plan to rein in mail-in balloting. But she also advised that we “use this decision to encourage friends to register and have a plan to vote no matter what, because massive turnout will be our strongest response to Trump’s lies about the election.
