Vikki Goodwin’s four-part ‘Uplift the House’ begins tonight: Learn more about Dem candidates

By Mike Killalea, NSD president

Don’t miss Uplift the House tonight, Vikki Goodwin’s four-part program to build support and connections for Dem Texas House Of Representatives candidates.

The effort could not be more vital. If Dems flip only 12 seats and defend all that we have, the Texas House will boast a Democratic majority.

“That would allow us to defeat bad legislation —vouchers and more — and pass some good legislation out of the House,” Rep Goodwin remarked.

The fun takes place from 7-8 pm. RSVP here (https://tinyurl.com/32ue9vmb), and show your support for a Blue Texas House!

“It is tough being a candidate in today’s political climate,” Goodwin said. “We can all show a little love and support just by showing up – and you don’t even have to drive anywhere!”

Tonight’s Uplift , dubbed Unique Opportunities, focuses on candidates with something unique going on.

Four Uplift events in all

There are three more Uplift The House events following tonight’s event:

• Tuesday, August 27, 7-8 pm – A Better Fit for Texas: candidates running against Far-Right Republicans

• Tuesday, September 3, 7-8 pm – Let’s Move the Needle: candidates who may not be able to flip their seats this cycle, but we need to help them move the needle. And who knows, maybe some of them will come up with a surprise victory like I did!

• Monday, September 9, 7-8 pm – Hold ‘Em and Open Seats: candidates who need to hold their seats, and those running in seats with no incumbents

“They will need luck, strategy and support to win their elections,” Goodwin said. “However, even if they move the needle, and increase Democratic voter turnout, they will be helping candidates up and down the ballot, like the Harris/Walz ticketColin Allred for US Senate, our Texas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals judgescity councilcounty commissioners and school board candidates.

“The work they do is critical to turning Texas Blue!”
