Turn up the heat on Cornyn & Cruz to block DHS funding this week!

Because of the Minnesota killings, Senators are coming out against the bill that would fund the government past Friday at midnight, unless DHS funding is removed or restrictions placed on immigration enforcement operations.

Now’s the time to give our Texas Senators an earful! Or eyeful!

Senator John Cornyn

(202) 224-2934 (DC)

Senator Ted Cruz

(202) 224-5922 (DC)

(suggested message - takes under a minute for 2 calls)

Stop the killing of innocent civilians! Strip the appropriations bill of DHS funding. Or restrict how their agents can carry out their duties. Enough is enough!

As Heather Cox Richardson reported yesterday, the Trump administration continues to double down on its false version of events. Here are some of the ways Minnesotans and others are fighting back.

  • Minnesota Department of Corrections launched its own website to combat lies being told by DHS.

  • Minneapolis Police Chief told Face the Nation that the city’s 600-member force went the entire year (2025) “...arresting hundreds and hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn’t shoot anyone…” while federal agents have shot 3 people in 3 weeks, 2 fatally.

  • Minnesota National Guard wore neon vests to distinguish themselves from federal agents, and handed out doughnuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters.

  • Yesterday the National Basketball Players Association issued a strong statement against the killings, quoting MLK Jr, “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.”

  • Long-time MAGA supporters and DHS insiders are speaking out against the lawless and deliberately cruel policies and actions of ICE and other DHS agencies.

Richardson goes on to point out that the usually reliable editorial boards of Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal and New York Post have both come out against ICE operations in Minneapolis.

She also cites the G. Elliot Morris’ finding yesterday (Strength in Numbers) that Trump’s approval rating is underwater in fifteen of the states he won in 2024!
