Trump is taking a wrecking ball to America’s education system.

In his piece today, Dan Rather lays out Trump’s aggressive attack on our schools. After six decades of bipartisan support, Head Start has been defunded and subject to mass layoffs, Colleges and universities have lost billions in research grants and won’t get it back unless they agree to toe Trump’s ideological line. Student loans have been cut severely, especially for nurses and teachers who are in short supply. A new “landmark initiative” helmed by a coalition of conservative groups, including the book-banning Moms for Liberty and Turning Point USA, has been given a free hand to rewrite history. The foxes are in charge of the henhouse over at the Department of Education, and its demise may be on the horizon. Much of what Trump has done may be illegal. Another BIG reason to elect a Congress in the ’26 midterms that will push back against his disastrous policies.
