The latest on the orange one’s power grab

Two days ago, the Supreme Court moved us closer to an authoritarian state by allowing Trump to gut the Department of Education while the issue is still being litigated in lower courts.

That’s not the only infringement of lawmaking power assigned by the Constitution to Congress alone. Yesterday the Senate met at the administration’s request to rubber stamp “rescissions” of $9.4 billion in cuts already made by Trump and his cronies. By law, the president cannot decide NOT to spend money appropriated by Congress. He’s attempting to get approval after the fact.

Heather Cox Richardson raised another important question in yesterday’s letter, “…who is actually running the government…”? Trump only deals with what he wants to, and his cabinet members are mostly cowering in their offices, trying to stay out of his way. It appears Trump’s deputy White House chief of staff Stephen Miller, key architect of Project 2025, is filling the vacuum and doing his worst.

Don’t give up! There are rumblings of discontent in MAGAland over the Epstein. Keep the faith and keep resisting!
