LoneStarLeft exposes the evil influence of Big Oil in Texas

From her unique vantage point as a Texan, Michelle Davis of LoneStarLeft describes the devastating impact of Big Oil - Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron - all headquartered in Texas. Big Oil has corrupted the state’s government. It has dragged the U.S. into foreign entanglements in pursuit of oil. It has hidden the catastrophic environmental and health costs of fossil fuels. It has made Texas the largest contributor to climate change in the United States and, ironically, the state most vulnerable to those changes.

Davis points out that there are now more clean energy jobs in Texas than fossil fuel jobs. But with its billions in profits, Big Oil has bought the Texas Republican party to protect its interests.

Davis concludes that the only way out is to flip the Texas Legislature next November and enact the long-overdue changes that will curb Big Oil’s power.
