Nonviolence and protest work. The award-winning documentary "Bringing Down a Dictator", playing on Tuesday, May 17, in Round Rock, shows how a dedicated and nonviolent student group toppled Serbian dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
Narrated by Martin Sheen, "Bringing Down a Dictator" explores how the group Otpor! (Serbian for "Resistance!") used civil disobedience, humor, and rock music to dismantle Milosevic's regime.

The film uses exclusive footage and interviews to show how the movement turned the people against Milosevic.
The 56-minute film by Steve York originally aired on national PBS in March 2002. It was narrated by Martin Sheen and won the George Foster Peabody Award.
