People are angry and engaged, I am no exception, and I bet you’re not either.

 

Make your voice heard at any of several upcoming events.

 

50-50-1: Not My President Day in Austin

Monday, February 17: If you missed the recent 50-50-1 rally and protest at the Capitol at noon Monday, Feb 17, is your next opportunity.

 

In Austin, the protest is actually #ResistAustin’s “Austin - Not My President Day”!

 

Now that’s a sentiment we can all get behind!

 

 

Protect & expand Texas education!

Multiple opportunities exist to protect and expand Texas public education. Here are a few:

 

ATX: Save Texas Schools Statewide Rally at the Capitol: 11am – 1pm Saturday, February 22: South Lawn of State Capitol

Texas PTA Rally Day: 11:30am – 1pm Monday, February 24: South Lawn of the State Capitol

 

·      Sponsored by Texas PTA

 

 

Pastors for Texas Children Advocacy: 9am – 3pm, Tuesday, March 4 (9 am-3 pm) Training at an Austin church, followed by visits to legislators at the Capitol

 

 

Texas AFT Educators Legislative Advocacy Day: 10am – 4pm Monday, March 17 (Austin/Bastrop/Round Rock); for public school educators, retirees, support professionals, members of AFT or not

Learn your rights: ACLU offers webinars twice per week.

 

The ACLU of Texas offers twice weekly Know Your Right's webinars to help ensure people know their legal rights when it comes to Immigration Enforcement, Texas laws, and the newly enacted Federal executive orders.

 

To ensure the safety and privacy of all- these will be hosted as webinars- no one's names, faces, or other information will be visible to any of the other attendees. ACLU does not registration for the event, so no one must share names or emails.

 

All presentations will be in English with live Spanish translation or Spanish with live English translation. Contact ACLU of Texas if looking for presentations in additional languages (https://www.aclutx.org )
