Lone Star Left blasts Republicans, specifically Abbott, on the looming termination of SNAP

In today’s piece Michelle Davis points out that when the right chooses cruelty, the left organizes care.

Overnight 3.4 million Texans will lose food assistance, half of them being children. Nationally 86% of all SNAP benefits go to household that include a child, elderly person, or person with disabilities. In the Big Bad Bill, Republicans require recipients to work to continue receiving benefits.

Of course, Texas House Democrats (who are still in touch with reality) stepped up this week to form an Emergency Committee to address the crisis. Not a single Republican joined. Abbott has predictably remained silent. Read more here.
